Dear Ones,

Peace and grace to you. I hope this message finds you well and comforted in the Lord in all things.

I announce with much joy and anticipation that the theme of our camp for this year is taken from John 14:19, which says, "...because I live, you shall live also." These words were spoken by Jesus at the close of His earthly ministry, and they were heard by his disciples and to be apostles of His Church. Yet, the fullness, implications, and meaning of those eternal words was to lead to times of trials, crisis, conflicts, tensions, and growing pains that would come to form the very basis and foundation of the New Testament Church.

"...You shall live also" was to be the over-arching theme, life, struggle, and blood of the Church. "You shall live" is meant to be God-redeeming, regenerating, sanctifying, and the breaking of man’s will. It judges all lives for all times in all those who are saved for the divine purpose of bringing man to Himself.

The increasing realization of the early Church and foundational apostles was that the greater the understanding of the inner live that the Lord Jesus Christ lived within Himself and in relation with the Father (“because I live”) the greater would be the impact and effect of that Life in all those of the early Church. In short, having to know the life Jesus lived is explicitly tied to how His Life is lived in us. Thus, knowing His Life first will lead to our living with Him always.

In essence, the sum of all the apostles’ experiences, stories, narratives, spiritual biographies, doctrines, and writings originated from that knowledge and gave the New Testament Church the ground and goal of its existence.

The unrelenting, popular emphasis of our days, and long since, has been the feverish, nail-biting, self-commanding efforts of “how to press in spiritually,” “how to attain victory,” “energising what's in us in His Name” and so on. Such propelling endeavours are the realizations of our own mastering of the “spiritual self” and is not the Spirit who masters us. It is propelling the self to know God, and not the God who invades to break the self. It is always my best for God, and not God's best for me. It is forcefully proclaiming all I want is to do His will, and never all in me to become His will.

May we gather with a heart of expectation in the opening of His Word and may the Lord's gracious Spirit enable our hearts to perceive, see, and receive what is so urgently needed for our time.

My hope and prayer is that you will join us in this conference. I look forward to seeing each and everyone of you there.

Affectionately your brother,

Chin
